Bus Hailer
20 May 2024
The West of England Combined Authority approached Pindar Creative to create a Bus Hailer publication to assist visually impaired individuals in feeling more confident when using public transportation.
The Bus Stop Hailer features a simple and clear flip-pad design, using a large bold font with embossed numbers and letters. Braille is included and positioned underneath the numbers and letters for accessibility.
Passengers can easily select their bus number using the combinations of letters and numbers available. The user can hold it up to oncoming traffic so the bus driver can easily see if they need to stop.
Additionally, the word "bus" is included on the hailer so that passengers can still flag down a bus even if they are unsure of the route number.
This simple and affordable tool aims to help more people in the West of England access public transport safely and confidently.
