Pindar Creative installs Papercast displays at Ellon Park & Ride
6 January 2023
Pindar Creative has installed six Papercast e-paper displays as part of a £1.4 million improvements package at Aberdeenshire Council's Park & Ride hub at Ellon. Each of the three shelters includes a 23" display providing passengers with real-time information, and a 42" display showing scheduled information.
The Papercast displays were installed by Pindar Creative just days before Storm Arwen hit leaving large swathes of north-east Scotland without power for some time. The council's choice of 'off-grid' power in the form of long-life batteries will enable the screens to continue operating during future outages.
The state-of-the-art site features an array of pioneering low-energy green technology and will sit as a benchmark for future transport facilities. The project has featured in two recent publications:

With industry-leading power efficiency, Papercast displays use no power at all to display an image and only a little power to change an image, making electronic paper one of the lowest power display technologies in the world.
Papercast outdoor e-paper displays are supplied in a ruggedized IK09 and IP67 enclosure to provide strong environmental and impact resistance. Toughened glazing is made of high-quality laminated glass to provide the best optical properties and physical protection. The outdoor e-paper range has wireless, battery and solar capabilities as standard.
Public sector bodies can purchase e-Paper displays from Pindar Creative via the G-Cloud Digital Marketplace.
